A shamanic workshop for a new world

Pleased to announce that I shall be back in Malta for a new  3 day workshop from Friday February 8th  1oth

Neil, Kat and I are joining forces again and very happy to return to this very powerful island.

As the Old World order continues its decline and disintegration, we are experiencing the birth of a New World, one prophesied by indigenous peoples across the globe. Whilst we need to continue to work on ourselves as individuals in body, mind and spirit, the focus is increasingly on working together as groups and even more widely as part of a global, and potentially cosmic network. The Inca talk of this time, which they call “Taripaypacha” or “time of rediscovering ourselves”, as a time when “ayni” or harmony will be restored between peoples and between the worlds. This will be a time of new ways of working collectively, in tune with the Cosmos. This workshop, the sixth in a series of occasional events which began in 2008 in Malta, will utilize a beautiful and powerful set of shamanic processes and ceremonies to support and guide participants on a journey from self, to group and finally to the collective. In doing so we will be modeling the way we wish to be in this New World.

Whether you have been with us before, or are new to this work, we are very keen to connect to as many people as we can, so please join us

tulip-black-background-dsc_0943_2sfOrange, what a beautiful and exciting colour………  what I find do incredible is that all winter this tulips magnificence is slumbering deep within a shrivelled looking brown bulb!!  The sun warms the soil; the days lengthen and up shoot sturdy green growth, big swollen buds that burst open in a riot of colour.

Orange is the colour of our second chakra, the sacral chakra, located in the sacred bowl of the pelvis where it connects to the sacrum.    This is the centre of the emotional system, all that is sensual and creative emanates from this area as the chakra spins.  Embedded in this area also is our childhood development of age 6-12, we start to explore, identify emotions and learn to create in all areas from our new experiences.  For some children this is an exciting time to explore the world outside of the home and come back to the safety and support of the family, for others this is not the case, the family support is not there or can be perceived as “not there”, for this reason there is a lot of “emotion” held in this chakra, old stored energy that blocks and stops the chakra from spinning freely.  From a shamanic perspective this is where we cleanse and clear these energies, clear the imprints that have built up on the luminous energy field

When we clear this chakra we connect to our emotions, we no longer feel disconnected from life, we “feel” them and they move us create, change and growth.  Connecting to our emotions are essential, how are we going to move forward and change if we cant identify and work with what is truly going on inside of us.  Without this chakra being fully cleansed the energies cannot flow fully through the chakra system.

The photographic image of the tulip was taken by me, if you would like to see some more of my flower images then please follow this link

Spring has sprung

A TIME FOR RENEWALrelease-and-let-go

With the spring equinox just a few short weeks ago, heralding the start of abundant growth, germinating new seeds that will bear the fruits of our vision in summer,  it’s a time to bring about a sense of balance and renewal to our intentions and visions.

To help us make an energetic start to the mode of spring here are a few things we can all do:

·      Energetically: Opening our windows and smudge our homes and offices by burning sage and/or pine or sweet grass in an abalone shell or fire-resistant bowl.  This cleansing ritual creates a swirl of smoke that not only removes sour air as it wafts through open spaces into the world outside, taking with it the stagnant energies that accumulate after a Winter of being confined indoors.

·      Mentally: Cleansing our mind of old thoughts by meditating or reflecting on the newness of spring, its vibrant green growth, the scents of opening blossoms and the brightness of the returning light.

·      Emotionally: Being expressive, be creative – sing, dance, paint with the intention of releasing the old self to make room for the new, more balanced self. Make a list of what we want to let go of and burn it in a ceremonial fire.  Release and let go

·      Physically: Breathing out the old stale air, breathe in the new, fresh, revitalizing air into our body, which helps to clean the mind, lungs, blood etc. Taking a bath in sea salts and letting the salt draw out the toxins from our body. Cleaning out our closets and donating cloths to a local organization or family in need.

The Chakras and our Energy Body

chakra-1Whoever we are, male or female, regardless of where were, born we all have similar skeletons, in that we have the same amount of ribs, pelvic bones, shoulder blades and so on.  Each and everyone of us, in the same way has an energetic body, comprising of the chakras and the numerous meridians used in acupuncture

When all is working in balance, the chakras, which are like small whirling energy funnels that extend out from our spines beyond the exterior of our physical bodies about 3-4 inches, they rotate or spin clockwise.  In doing so they resonate at a certain pitch, each one generating a different colour.

The chakras are connected to our neural pathways, our central nervous system and over time with years of pain, trauma, abuse, loss, these can become dull and blocked with the toxicity of these events.  They no longer spin in harmony, the sludge adheres to the walls of the chakras slowing them down, they lose their individual colours and become dull and they no longer are sending out high frequency energies. We age faster, slow down become weighed down with the process of living.

As a shaman, when I complete my work, complete the healing process the chakras are transformed, the colour and vibrational qualities are restored back to how they were when we were born… Our chakras glow again like the brightest of rainbows, spinning freely and in harmony with one another, vibrating at their highest level.  Our energy is restored, we have balance back again in our lives, and aging process is slowed down considerably.  Instead of surviving you will be living life as it was meant to be lived, harmonious, in tune with your surroundings  and manifesting and attracting positive things into your life.

The wild woman

intuition“Having a lover/friend who regards you as a living growing criatura, being, just as much as the tree from the ground, or a ficus in the house, or a rose garden out in the side yard… having a lover and friends who look at you as a true living breathing entity, one that is human but made of very fine and moist and magical things as well… a lover and friends who support the criatura in you… these are the people you are looking for. They will be the friends of your soul for life. Mindful choosing of friends and lovers, not to mention teachers, is critical to remaining conscious, remaining intuitive, remaining in charge of the fiery light that sees and knows.”

— Clarissa Pinkola Estes (Women Who Run with the Wolves)

Women who Run with Wolves has to be for me, the most moving, insightful and inspirational book I have read………………….    finding ones connection to the “wild”, our intuition, keeps us in that moist magical place where we create abundance from our heart

love-sickRUMI QUOTE – on love

Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.

thinking from the heart

Conversation with Native American Chief, Ochwiay Biano.

‘See.’  Ochwiay Biano said, ‘how cruel the whites looks.  Their lips are thin and their noses are sharp, their faces furrowed and distorted by folds.  Their eyes have a staring expression; they are always seeking something.  What are they seeking? The whites always want something, they are always uneasy and restless.  We do not know what they want, we do not understand them.  We think that they are mad.’

I asked him why he thought the whites were all mad.

‘They say that they think with their heads,’ he replied.

‘Why, of course, what do you think with?’  I asked him in surprise.

We think here,’ he said, indicating his heart !

Chief Biano opened Yungs eyes to the limitation of western ‘Rational’ thinking.

are pleased to announce

An initiatory five workshop series in Malta

from April 2009 to April 2011

It is the Time to Honour and give deep gratitude for this Earth and our Lives.  Time for us to stand up and step into the vision of the life we have been dreaming of from a place of power, love, gratitude and wisdom.

An opportunity to feel truly alive

The Shaman operates at the level of spirit, the level of pure energy, working with the luminous energy field that surrounds and informs the body.  In this course we will learn how to operate at this level too and thus we will gain access to the matrix of the Universe of living energies and be able to weave for ourselves and others wonderful new worlds of our becoming.

Throughout this course we will seek to connect with our inner guidance to ask important personal questions, to ask for healing and help in our life and receive practical spiritual wisdom in return. The course takes us through a process of personal development and empowerment, where ultimately we can become self-referencing human beings.

Ground-breaking shamanic teacher and practitioner Michael Harner once wrote:

‘People say that what we are all seeking is the meaning for life.

I don’t think that this is what we’re really seeking, I think what we’re seeking is an experience of being Alive.’

The Medicine Wheel as a framework for the workshops

The Medicine Wheel, originally a Native American conceptualisation, with its focus on the four cardinal directions of south, west, north and east, provides an excellent framework for our workshops.  In Peru, the ancient Inka capital city called Cusco, was known as the belly of the empire and it was built as the hub of a great wheel, the spokes of which radiated in all four directions.

The Inka constructed this extraordinary and beautiful city as a living metaphor and symbol of the world of universal energies – in this course we too learn to work with our own Cusco (or cosco in the ancient and still-living language of the Inkas) and how to understand ourselves as the hub of a great wheel of creation, spanning out in all directions, connecting to the living energies of all things.

Many of the traditions originating in Peru reflect this approach and we have found this the best way of teaching this path.

A Series of Five workshops

Each workshop focuses on the practices and teachings of a different direction.  In the final, fifth workshop scheduled for April 2011 we will bring all the teachings and practices of the Medicine Wheel together into an integrated whole.  It represents the end of one journey and the stepping off onto another, preparing us beautifully for the time to come, the Taripaypacha as the Inka named the period after 2012 – the Time of Meeting Ourselves Again.  Our True Selves
